Role: AI & Software Development Intern — Energy Team
Why this internship matters
The Energy team relies on software to run real analyses, support operational decisions, and make the team faster every week.
As an intern, your mission will be tech-first: build and improve internal tools used in a professional environment, connected to real production systems and live operational needs. You will also help identify where AI can create leverage for the team — from analysis automation to workflow acceleration and better knowledge access.
What you will do
Depending on your profile and the team’s priorities, your work may include:

Build and improve internal software tools used by the Energy team in day-to-day work

Contribute to AI-powered workflows, assistants, automations, or analysis tools that make the team more efficient

Work on Python-based services, notebooks, data pipelines, APIs, dashboards, and internal applications

Connect prototypes to real production constraints: reliability, usability, documentation, maintainability, and deployment

Investigate AI tools and use cases, test them pragmatically, and turn the useful ones into team workflows
-
Support energy-related analyses when needed, without being expected to be the “energy market expert”

Profile we are looking for
Must-have
You are likely a final-year student or gap-year student from a top engineering school or quantitative university program, such as École Polytechnique, Mines Paris, CentraleSupélec, Ponts,
You have:

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Solid foundations in applied mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, energy systems, or computer science

Good Python skills, or the ability to become productive quickly

A structured problem-solving approach

Strong written and oral communication in French and English

Genuine interest in energy transition, industrial systems, and climate impact
Nice-to-have

Experience with electricity markets, optimization, operations research, statistics, or time-series analysis

Knowledge of power systems, renewables, storage, flexibility, or energy regulation

Experience with Python data libraries, optimization packages, or simulation tools

Previous internship in energy, strategy consulting, trading, quantitative research, industrial engineering, or climate tech
